What is a ladder?

Ladder is a long lasting league which is intended to function with little to no involvement of admins. The system supports both individual (duel) and team (clan) ladders.

How does it work?

Ladders use a rating system based on ELO and it's configured similarly to the way it was once on ClanBase. The ladders are not related to the Ranked PUGs in any way and everyone starts the ladder at an equal rating of 1,000 points. After joining the ladder, players or teams can freely schedule their matches by using our very convenient challenging system. Once a scheduled match is played, result is entered and confirmed by the participants themselves, and points are added or subtracted automatically.

Ladder leader

The holder of the Nr 1 spot receives special treatment in many ways. Ladder leader has no rating (or has infinite rating) and the only way for anyone in the TOP5 to become a new leader is by beating the Nr 1. The leader is able to decline challenges from anyone outside of the TOP5, however ignoring a challenge from TOP5 will result in losing the leader position. More detailed explanation about the rating system and penalties can be found in the ladder rules.

Beta ladders

Since this is a brand new system, it has to be proven out first. Therefore, we are currently launching 3 beta ladders to prove out the concept and find any potential flaws or bugs. If after a while we see that the system is working well, permanent ladders will be established. The following ladders are now live:

• 1v1 w00t ladder
• 1v1 iDuel ladder
• 2v2 iCTF ladder

New functionality

Players and teams can be a part of multiple ladders at once. For easier and more convenient scheduling of matches in different ladders, all logged in users now have a new Agenda page, brought out in the main menu as icon. This page lists all of your pending challenges and upcoming matches across all leagues that you're a part of - both cups & ladders.

We have also renamed & improved your personal Teams & Leagues page which gives you a neat overview of items relevant to you.
