The King of the Rifle 2025 is an Unreal Tournament 99 one-day event organized by PassionateGaming. It is a free-for-all deathmatch tournament using Sniper Arena mutator. The tournament will start with at least 40 players that are split evenly across groups (heats) of up to 10 players each.
The event takes place on Sunday, May 11 starting at (tentatively) 18:00 CEST.
Note: The start time is subject to shift slightly depending on the number of signed up players.
Depending on the number of signups, likely the top 5 of each heat will advance to the next round through the tournament until the final heat where the winner will be decided.
Each heat will have a time limit of 15 minutes and no frag limit. The final round will have a time limit of 20 minutes. Any tiebreakers will be determined by players' efficiency.
We reserve the right to broadcast every match. The recording of such broadcasts can't be refused by the players.
2. Player requirements
This is an individual tournament and players of all skill levels are welcome to sign up and see how far they are able to go.
All
players must have an account registered on the PassionateGaming website
and linked to their Discord account used in PassionateGaming Discord
server.
If a player becomes aware that they will be unavailable for the next round,
they must inform the tournament admins as soon as possible before the next round begins. In that case, the first eliminated player from the previous heat will advance instead of the unavailable player.
Players must play with a nickname that matches or closely resembles the nickname that they signed up with.
3. Maps
The map list will be announced two weeks before the event. The map order will be decided one week before the event.
4. Server Selection
All matches must be played with tournament settings on servers sanctioned by PassionateGaming.
All servers will be selected by the admins.
If there is at least one player from North America or South America in a heat, the match will be played on a UK server.
If a heat consists of 50% or more players from North America and South America, the match will be played on an NA server.
German servers will be used only when the heat consists of only European players.
In an unlikely event that all servers are in use, the heat match may be delayed until a server from another heat frees up.
5. Server Crashes
In
the event that a server crashes, the server will be reset and the time
will be rounded up to the nearest minute. The scores will be added
together from both (all) parts.
6. Discord
All players are required to be present on the PassionateGaming Discord server.
The players will be automatically added to a thread in Discord dedicated to their heat. Server and map information will be shared by the admins in this thread. Please do not expect the admins to DM you the server information and instead keep an eye on the Discord thread.
All players should double check that the Discord account linked to their PassionateGaming website account is correct. If an incorrect Discord account is linked to your website account, you will not be added to the thread automatically.
7. First-person demos
All
players must record a first-person demo on all maps. There is no valid
excuse for not recording a demo of your game. If you don't know how to
or yours is 'broken', contact an admin or a fellow player for help.
Players
must keep their demos for 48 hours after the tournament.
Only admins are able to request the demos from the players. Any cheating accusations will be reviewed and ruled on by an anti-cheat team.
If a player refuses or fails to upload demos when requested, they will be disqualified from the tournament and their achievements will be voided.
8. Cheating
Any player caught cheating will be permanently banned from all competitions organized by PassionateGaming.
9. punctuality
All players should join the server and click in within 6 minutes from the time the server information is shared in the Discord thread by an admin.
Failure to show up timely will result in the match starting without the missing player(s) and thus they will be disqualified.
10. Sportsmanship
A
player may not spam speech binds during a match. Players who do
this will be warned to cease; players who continue will be removed from the tournament.
Racism
will not be tolerated. If a player makes racist remarks in game or on
Discord, the player in question will be warned and may be suspended or
banned from PassionateGaming.
11. Precedent
The
admin staff will abide by this ruleset as closely as possible, however
some deviation may be needed if any unpredictable scenarios arise.
In
the event that something not covered by this ruleset occurs, the admins
reserve the right to use their discretion to solve the issue. This
includes, but is not limited to, amending and changing rules if the need
arises. Any changes or new rules will apply to those situations from
that point on setting a precedent.
